Open-geometry modal method based on transverse electric and transverse magnetic mode expansion for orthogonal curvilinear coordinates

چکیده

A vectorial modal method is presented based on transverse magnetic and electric mode expansion, which significantly simplifies the evaluation of operator matrix. The method, features a true open boundary condition, introduced for an orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system with specific examples circular elliptical geometries presented. We validate by considering challenging problems, such as calculation spontaneous emission rates, reflection coefficients effect emitter spatial misalignment $\ensuremath{\beta}$ factor. Results are compared literature.

Direct Optical Probing of Transverse Electric Mode in Graphene

Unique electrodynamic response of graphene implies a manifestation of an unusual propagating and localised transverse-electric (TE) mode near the spectral onset of interband transitions. However, excitation and further detection of the TE mode supported by graphene is considered to be a challenge for it is extremely sensitive to excitation environment and phase matching condition adherence. Her...

Spin annihilations of and spin sifters for transverse electric and transverse magnetic waves in co- and counter-rotations

This study is motivated in part to better understand multiplexing in wireless communications, which employs photons carrying varying angular momenta. In particular, we examine both transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) waves in either co-rotations or counter-rotations. To this goal, we analyze both Poynting-vector flows and orbital and spin parts of the energy flow density for t...

Transverse Electric Impedance of Nitella

Alternating current measurements have been taken on single Nitella cells over a frequency range from 30 to 2,500,000 cycles per second with the current flow perpendicular to the axis of the cell. The measuring cells were so constructed that electrolytes of any desired concentration could be circulated during the course of the measurements. The cellulose wall which surrounds the cell is found to...

Transverse instability of transverse-magnetic solitons and nonlinear surface plasmons.

We analyze stability of the TM polarized optical solitons and nonlinear guided waves localized at a metal-dielectric interface. We demonstrate, both analytically and numerically, that the spatial solitons can experience vectorial transverse modulational instability that leads to the generation of arrays of two-dimensional TM polarized self-trapped localized beams. In a sharp contrast, we reveal...

From Ramond Fermions to Lamé Equations for Orthogonal Curvilinear Coordinates

We show how Ramond free neutral Fermi fields lead to a τ -function theory of BKP type which describes iso-orthogonal deformations of systems of ortogonal curvilinear coordinates. We also provide a vertex operator representation for the classical Ribaucour transformation.
